Dear Friends and Neighbors, 

 

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for the support, kindness, and patience you have given to me since I decided to run for city council. I am very humbled by the results of this weekend’s election. It is not often that nearly precisely what one hopes will come to pass actually does, and I am exceedingly grateful for the opportunity to work as your council member alongside Dr. Bertini, Mr. Barnes, Councilman Brett, and Mayor Sample. I commend Mr. Fisher, Mr. Hart, and Mr. Stuart on the very hard work that they each put towards their campaigns, and I hope to get the chance to work with all of them to support our city as neighbors and friends.

 

The success that our group had this past weekend is the result of a real, live grassroots effort. A debt of gratitude is owed to the small group of volunteers who worked tirelessly and freely to advocate for a vote for all residents, and whose success has brought them no individual win or praise. To the group of passionate neighbors who spent many months researching, brainstorming, speaking, writing, designing, printing, and block walking with me, I am indebted and in awe. 

 

As I drove around for much of Sunday afternoon collecting yard signs, I quietly reflected on the past months of work behind me, and the coming two years of work ahead. There is much to be done, and I am hopeful that we will use our time well. I aim to leave the city in a better place at the end of my term than when I begin, and I will strive to offer all citizens the same support, kindness, and patience that so many have given to me.
